FAQs

How can I find the best place to get dental work done?

Caring for your smile can be an incredibly personal matter, and it’s only natural to want to find a dentist you can trust to help you build and maintain healthy, happy teeth and gums. If you’re seeking a new provider, a quick internet search can usually produce a local list of results to start from.

But if you’re struggling to narrow down the result and make a decision, it might help to take a few minutes to identify and write down a few key priorities regarding oral healthcare. For example, do you need a provider who’s in-network with your insurance policy? Are there specific services, like cosmetics or clear aligners, you anticipate wanting or needing? Do you have dental anxiety that requires sedation? Answering these types of questions for yourself can help you identify a dentist who checks off the right boxes.

How much does a routine dental checkup and cleaning cost in Coral Springs, FL?

Most people can expect to pay anywhere from $120 to $250 for a routine exam and cleaning in Coral Springs, but the total cost of your routine visit can depend significantly on your unique circumstances. For instance, those with dental insurance might not be required to pay anything out of pocket because policies often cover 100% of preventive services.

However, if our team finds issues, like cavities or gum disease, during your appointment, you’ll also be responsible for the cost of the necessary treatments.

What’s the best way to find a provider who places dental implants?

Many experts consider dental implants the gold standard of replacement teeth because of their unique advantages. But they’re also the only restorations that involve oral surgery, and therefore can’t always be placed by general dentists. In many cases, only a specialist, such as an oral surgeon, a prosthodontist, or a periodontist, is qualified to perform the procedure.

With that said, many providers complete additional training and certification programs to place and restore dental implants in the office. At our office in Coral Springs, Dr. Mihran Asinmaz has completed the necessary requirements and has the specialized experience to offer this treatment in-house.

What level of education is required to become a dentist?

Dentist must meet specific criteria before they can be licensed to work with patients, beginning with their education. Usually, the begin by earning a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, then must achieve either a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) or DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) advanced degree from one of more than 70 institutions accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA).

At our office, Dr. Armand Asinmaz initially graduated with a bachelor’s in Biological Science from Florida Atlantic University then earned his DMD from Nova Southeastern University, where he finished at the top of his class. Meanwhile, Dr. Mihran Asinmaz attended the University of Florida to achieve a B.S. in Business Management and then went on to earn a DMD from Nova Southeastern University. He then completed a rigorous General Practice Residency (GPR) in the North Shore- Long Island Jewish Health System.
